Savage 1899 Question

Post by sureshot »

Have a Savage Model 1899 in 303 Savage that needs a new buttstock. Can anybody tell me for sure if one off of a later model 99 will fit OK?
Thanks,
Steve

I'm pretty sure there are some differences. I saw, locally, an old gun with what is an ill-fitting Fajen butt-stock. As Fajen has been gone a while, I bet it was the wrong model, BUT have to admit I just don't know for sure.
Sincerely,

Hobie

I have an 1899 TD in 22HP, with a dark bore and cracked stock. When I get around to fixing it, these are the first people I will contact.

I'm still not sure if they have what I need in stock, but at least they will know what they are talking about.
