OT- Battle Hymn Of The Republic

Post by Mike D. »

Of course this would not be allowed to be sung in our Godless school systems on a regular basis, but these kids did it and quite well indeed.

This wonderful rendition of the Battle Hymn Of The Republic was performed by grade and high school students and recorded by a parent, a few enhancements were added, and it was posted on the net. Turn on your sound and press the F11 key for full screen effect. Enjoy. :)

An inspiring ballad and well performed.

I understand that this piece was the authorized hymn of the federal army during the Civil War, but I found the the hypocracy of the imagery being displayed as compared to the words being sung to be... striking.

Diametric opposites in my view.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.
