The leverguns go shooting!! - With pics

Post by wildmanh »

Today some friends and I went to a shooting range on the south side of Utah lake here in Central Utah. We brought my Marlin 1894c, Henry .22, Ruger Blackhawk .357 Mag/9mm, Ruger Single Six, Ruger 10/22 and Beretta Neos. The lever guns and revolvers saw the most use.

My friends Jeff K., Jeff H., and Shanna E. came with me. Shanna is into .22 rifles and has shot a few Bolt action .22's before. She rather liked the 10/22 and the Henry. We all had fun and it was great bringing a lady friend (Not girl friend but I'm working on it), especially since she enjoyed it so much. She's been tence from finals and other stuff so this trip was rather relaxing, she blew off steam. LOL!!

We were at the range about 2 hours. Near the end we did a contest to see who could empty three guns into specific targets the fastest. One rifle and 2 pistols were used. Us guys used the 1894 and Shanna used the Henry, all 4 used the revolvers. Empty the rifle into a wood box about 70 yards away while standing, Blackhawk into a 1.5 gallon metalic Rootbeer keg and the Single Six into a Milk Jug about 12 yards away. There was no clear winner it was just fun strapping on the pistols and shooting them as quick as we could. :) Shanna looked so cool wearing the pistols and holding the rifle. But alas I didn't have my camera. So when we got back to my place she suited up again for some pictures. So I'm adding them below.

The leverguns and revolvers work perfectly and everyone had a great time! Theres even a good chance that some of us guys will be heading back to that range or one up Provo canyon this Saturday for some more cowboy type shooting. I'm stocked. Well with out further ado here are the pics of Shanna:

If Shanna has time this spring and summer she might be doing quite a bit more .22 shooting with me. She's a country girl which is cool cause I'm a country guy. Anyways hope you enjoyed the story and pictures.

Wildmanh...

You'd best forget the paper targets and root beer kegs for a while and set your sights seriously on marrying that girl!!! :D :D :D That beautiful, blonde sharp shootin' country honey is a keeper for sure! OK, if you have any doubts just imagine giving each other His and Her birthday leverguns every year for the next half century!!! Are you convinced yet? Now, you're taking her cowboy shootin' next weekend....right?????? Levergunners here expect regular progress posts from you, and our advice, of course, will follow as may be required!

Thanks for sharing your pics and post! :D

Thanks guys!! Shanna is a good friend and one I really want to date. But she's in rebound sooo I have to take it easy. Hanging out, shooting and horse back riding are good. :)

Anyways, she went shooting with a church group a year ago. Was nice to have her along yesterday. Do you guys know anyone with horses here in Central Utah? I think Shanna and I need to go riding. If we were closer I'd get her a rifle for her birthday in June.

Saturday is the next shooting trip... Maybe. LOL!! Will see about getting some girls to come.
