new procedure?

Post by Merle »

Greetings,

Almost every time I try to open this forum I have to log in again. The system remembers me, but I still have to tell it to log me in. This has gradually become more frequent.

Any ideas? :?:

Oppps, somehow the previous remark got posted on the wrong topic.

On this topic, IIRC, you have to enable your computer to accept cookies to store your login info... You can do it so it's site specific.

The persistent login key was set to 0 which means it shouldn't expire, for grins I set it to 365 days, maybe that will help.

Huh? Is that something each person needs to do, or what?

No. :)

Also, you might have your computer set to dump history, and cookies each time you shut down. Not a bad thing to do, but you might lose login info each time.

Sometimes the cookie that stores the information gets corrupted and flaky problems ensue. Delete the cookies for this forum and see if that helps.

You just can't take a hint, can ya, Merle?

Same thing happened to me for a while, then went back to normal. No idea what was going on or how it got fixed.

Haven't seen a useful hint yet, just some snarkiness.
