Just got my new sights from skinner. They look great, I can't wait to try them out.
With the ladder up I can see both through the peep and under it for use of the rear buckhorns. It works almost like an express leaf sight. With the ladder in the down position it still allows for use of the rear buckhorns. These are some extremely well made sights.
I think he started late last year, he posted on marlinowners back in November to say he had started making them.
I like the look of them and they are on my "got to get" list.
Plenty of elevation for heavy slow bullets on the 200yd ram, or maybe I could try my 357 as a standard sillywet rifle

How low does the peep go? Does it go as low as the notch in the barrel sight?
Thanks for the picture, looking forward to a field report...

I replaced the front sight with a higher one for that very reason. The ladder in the lowest position is slightly higher than the rear buckhorns on the barrel.

He does not list them on his website yet. They are $75 shipped or $85 if you want a new front sight as well. There is a thread on the marlin owners forum that is dedicated to skinner sights and has a plethora of info about them.

I have been known to hit the 400 yd gong with this very rifle from time to time. Although this is not my primary long range levergun I thought it would be neat to take it out once and awhile for silhouette. I most likely will leave the ladder set for 150-200 (which is the most I would shoot at a critter with this setup) and set the buckhorns for 75.
