Good morning at the Range

Post by 2ndovc »

Once again I had the whole place to myself :D , Except the caretaker. It's 124 acres and takes a full time resident to keep up with it.

Forgot my camera again but here's what i went shootin' with.

My new( to me) '57 vintage 39a sporting it's new Lyman 66 sight and my Bowen/ SBH.

Got the Marlin sighted in. What a tack driver!
Next was a new load for my SBH. 240 gr LSWC Hollow point GC over 9.5 grains of Unique.

Man I love the smell of Unique in the morning!! :D

Very good morning! :D
That's a great combo. Distance you shot the groups and what kind of ammo did you use in the Marlin?

Was shooting @ 25 yds. Forgot my spotting scope too and couldn't see the .22 holes @ 50!!

.22 ammo was Remington Thunderbolts. I bought two cases of them last summer for the Boys. They sure go through the .22s :D

I cant think of a single thing wrong with a 57 vintage 39A, Perth Lever Action Club has one as a club rifle and the last time I shot it I shot an A grade score which is more than I can say for my 2006 model.

2ndovc,

Nice looking 39A. :D I trust you will be bringing it to the Cowboy Silhouette matches this year(?). Hope to see you at McKean County Rifle club in a few months.
