Newbie with a case of "lever fever" started with Model 71!

Post by emillika »

Hi all.. Just wanted to say hi and introduce myself.

Started a couple months ago when I picked up a Browning Model 71 (new) with about 1300-1400 rounds of 348 WCF ammo! from an estate sale along with a bunch of Colt 1911's and others.

Shortly later I popped for a Browning Model 91 44 Mag and just today I picked up a Marlin 1894C 357 Mag. I'm already on the look out for my next couple levers and I want a .22LR and maybe a few more BIG bores for now.

Thanks and I look forward to learning more here!

Welcome. I started on here with a .30-30, and am still here with several more. It is a fine and pleasant misery to want to obtain more leverguns.

Welcome to those who relive the Western Experience daily. My first lever gun was my great aunt's Winchester 94 in 32 SP.
It was exactly like my dad's 32 SP. We hunted deer together with those guns for most of my young life. They were both from the 40's and in really good shape. They were amazingly accurate. I presently have about 40 lever guns and counting.
I also belong to the Winchester Arms Collectors Association, love their quarterly journals. How many of you belong to the
WACA ?

Oh, so sorry to hear that. There ain't no cure for the Lever Guns Fever (finding and purchasing a new one is just temporary relief).

Welcome!

Ooh, you got bitten real good....you got lots of levers already.

Get'cha a 22 LR to go with your 357 Mag and mid-size long-actions. Then round it off with a 45-70 (like everybody else  ), or be 'different' and get a 444 Marlin :o ; better yet get a Bighorn Armory in 500 S&W or 460 S&W, if you're willing to break with tradition and really want gusto. 8) :D
