My Grandfather's 1907 vintage 38-55 and his Colt Official Police .38 Special. Both are super shooters! TheColt is marked LPD from a near by PD.

I inherited them and a few others when he passed away. I'll miss that Old Man until the day I die!

That 100+ year old wood is still lookin' pretty amazing.
... I love poetry, long walks on the beach, and poking dead things with a stick.

When you're ready to get rid of that '94 just let me know. I'll take exceptionally good care of it.

Jason,
Nothin's better than having an old gun when you know the history it came with. :D It just adds a bit more Pizzazz to the ownership. When the history comes from a family member, it even better!
I have a mess of old leverguns and none have history that I know of. Even my fathers guns he left me only go back to the early seventies, and they are all boltguns.----------------Sixgun

I wish I knew more about how he came across the 38-55. I have a '73 and a '92 that I knew he shot a little more often. He tended to use an old Remington pump more and more often because of his failing eyesight. I remember he'd come bolting off the back porch with that big old 12 Gage and blast a red squerril or woodchuck and let the dog finish them off. I know for deer hunting here in OH he used an old LC Smith with the barrels cut down and a big old red plastic bead front sight. Don't know what happened to that one.

Congrats on those, and use them in good memory.
