OT- Need help With 'Fridge

Post by BrianSH »

It's keeping thing cold - too cold. Freezing juices in the bottle, freezing the tops of glasses of tea, and frozen jello. It does cycle on and off but obviously too much.
The unit is 10 years old, and I do have the temp setting on the least cold setting. I guess this problem is better than the whole thing quitting and stinking up the house - which happen to my mom one year coming home from vacation.

Any Ideas? - Brian

I would think that the temperature control rheostat needs replacement.

Don't laugh, but unplug it and let it sit for an hour, and try again.

Yep, good old master reset. Quite a few things in one's home today can have the computer reset this way.

This can also be a sign of low refrigerant level. It may sound odd but a guy I know who is in the repair business told me this. Sounds weird but it is true.
