Turkey season opened here two weeks ago now. Tennessee is shotgun only and the thrill is in calling a mature tom into shotgun range. I spent all last season trying to call one in for my son to no avail. Opening morning this year things took a turn for the better. His first tom.....10 inch beard/1 inch spurs. The following weekend I followed suit. Mine had a 10 1/2 inch beard and 1 inch spurs. The breast meat taste great cut off the bone, cut into strips and chicken fried!

24 hours in a day.....24 beers in a case. Coincidense? I think not.
Good time with your son, thats great. It opened here yesterday and a young boy at church told me him and his dad both connected with Toms. Wind was real heavy too.
JerryB II Corinthians 3:17, Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.
I might get to go this season for the first time. I've got my box of shells and a new choke to pattern. God willing, my friend's schedule and the birds will work with me to fill my fridge.
Nice Pics. and thanks for sharing.
I always enjoy spring turkey hunting - opening day here in Pennsylvania begins 4/26 - I'll be out - trying to bring one into shotgun range.
We also have a fall season that in some places you can use a rifle. I have killed them in the fall using a Rem. 222 and my .357 Smith/Wesson - the last few years I have been out with my Winchester 1892 in 32-20 WCF.
