OT-Sheath for Green River Skinner Knife
I just bought a Russell Green River 10" Buffalo Skinner knife. Does anyone know where I can get a sheath?

When you had the other post up< I checked the crazy crow site and they had several sheaths on later pages in the knife section. I was wondering which one you were going to get.

I recommend you try your hand at making one, too.
The Green River's a rustic knife, that calls for a rustic sheath - and they're fairly easy to make from tanned leather available at hobby shops.
Make a sheath out of a large piece of paper (newspaper or freezer paper will do) first, then transfer your finalized outline/design to the leather.
Fold the paper in half, and insert the knife as you would in a sheath.
Trim away anything that's not a sheath.
Make it about 1/4" larger than you think, to leave room for edge stitching.
Don't forget to allow for paper/leather, extending straight upward, that will be later folded over to make an integral belt loop.
Mark the edges every 1/8" or 1/4" apart, punch or drill holes, and lace(sew) belt loop to sheath back, then sheath face to sheath back with heavy waxed thread (also available at the hobby shop).
The leather can the be stained or oiled, or waxed as is.
Any decoration, such as initials stamping or carving, should be done before sewing, on dampened leather.
