LeRoy Merz has a new catalog..

Post by morgan in nm »

..for those interested. A friend of mine has been giving me a catalog of his every time it comes in but I don't have the money to order from him at this time. Just thought I would pass this on.

His website is www.merzantique.com

He does have some good stuff but it is pricey.

Pricey is an understatement, in this new catalog, but I have bought about 8 "fairly" priced rifles over the previous 3 years from him

Well, I just looked at his website and got somewhat annoyed. He has some fairly well beat guns for 3 g's, but that s not the issue that annoyed me. Go to his 1886 rifles and there is a special order "short rifle" in 33 wcf for $8500. That short rifle is nothing more than a standard extra lightweight with a 22" barrel and a saddle ring on the side. Sure , the 33's were standard at 24" and the saddle ring is an extra. (if it letters) I just can't see how a 3K rifle is turned into a 8.5K rifle. That sure is an expensive saddle ring.
In the past Leroy usually never dealt in the lower condition guns but I guess the herd is really thinning out.-----------Sixgun
