Proposed Billy Dixon Range Event Date for Summer!

Post by CowboyTutt »

Guys, I have a tentative date for the first major Billy Dixon Ultra Long Range Shooting Event. You can read about the range here:

viewtopic.php?p=69334#69334

My update from that post reads as follows:

I also have a proposed date of Saturday, July 19th and possibly Sunday, July 20th for a Billy Dixon Event! That Saturday is the usual monthly date for local shooters to meet at the range, so attendance would be excellent. There will also be at least 4 Shootists present as well as men who regularly shoot at ultra long range, so the amount of expertise that will be available will be extraordinary. I highly recommend anyone in adjacent states to Colorado try to make it! My friends and I will be coming out from California. It is well worth the trip!

After talking to Alan Aman, who is a founding member of the FoBD Range, and who actually cut and welded the targets, we figure that there will be about 10 locals present, and probably more as the word gets out. I'm currently expecting anywhere from 2-4 of us coming out from California or Arizona as of now. I'm almost certain I can count on our own Griff being there. I think things will grow from here.

Hoping some more Leverguns.com people can make it!

Sincerely,

Tutt

I would love to join you all but I am afraid I will be unable to attend. So I will have to live vicariously thru your reports. :(

Thanks for the heads up Tutt. I can start making plans now! Hmmm. Wonder is "Kate" is up for the challenge?

Would be good if the dates for that would coincide a bit better with the peach and melon harvest. That way folks could go home with of few cases of tasty souvenirs. :D

Griff don't forget you can get all practiced up at Alliance Ne, May 2-4 at the Midwest longrange and buffalo National Championships.
And at Kenny Wasserburgers creedmore and MILE shoot May 16-18.Also keep an eye out when you go thru Rawlins Jimbo Terry has long range shoots there at various times thru the summer.

Don, that "practiced up" sounds a lot like "practice", as in:
1: to do repeated exercises for proficiency
2 a: to perform or work at repeatedly so as to become proficient <practice> b: to train by repeated exercises <practice>
That just somehow reeks of sinnin'! Especially as those two definitions contain words that seem contraditory to my "semi-retired" lifestyle: exercises, "work" & "train". Those were huge impediments to my seeking a "real job" after I retired.

Don, I didn't realize there were so many long range shoots out there. Wish I could attend some of them, but its not to be as we are in the "home stretch" of the school year.

Griff, Mic McPherson emailed me to say that "I will try to keep that date sacred." Barring Peggy having health problems, I think I can count on him being there. That would bring my Shootist count to 3 minimum and very possibly 5.

I would also like to meet Scott T. and Kate. Maybe they can make it.
