Yet another problem, bent extractor. PIC
On the 3,878th round from my Marlin 336 I had this happen.
Anybody else have this problem?
I see that midway has a replacement for $3-4. With how much I shoot I think I'll buy two.

Hmmm.. yes I am shooting alot of cast. I do clean on a regular bases. I will check though.junkbug wrote:Are you shooting a lot of cast bullet reloads? Perhaps you are getting a minor amount of lead buildup in the camber area that is just slowly overworking the extractor.
Of course, it is only a theory, at least until you closely inspect your chamber for lead.

Thanks.

I'm more then happy with the rifle, I just thought it was an interesting jam. I'm glad it happened now and not just before rifle season.Ysabel Kid wrote:Almost 3900 rounds. Who cares what caused it as long as it last another 3900 rounds before the same thing happens? Of course, if it were dangerous, or a couple-hundred dollar fix, that would be a horse of a different color...
Like Hobie I've not seen one like it before.
