Gun combos - 2 of 17

Post by Ysabel Kid »

Another day... another gun combination.

Here was the thread that started this "series":

viewtopic.php?t=5696

The combos are in no specific order. Some (most) include a levergun, but I'm not going to "OT" those that don't (sorry to anyone offended!).

What is a "gun combo"? Well, to me it is a longarm and a handgun that "go" with one another. The first thing that tends to pop into my mind when I think of this are a pair that shoot a common cartridge, like the .22's in my "1 of 17" post. The pair below also shoot a common cartridge: the .38 Special.

Here's the combo:

Image

The rifle is an Uberti 1866 "Yellowboy" Winchester. This was the last gun my Dad purchased before he died, and actually arrived a week after his death.

The revolver is a Cimarron (shock - given the other thread  ) Uberti "Richards-Mason" conversion of an 1851 Navy Colt. These were popular during the 1870's as some folks, instead of running out and buying the then-new Colt Single Action Army (a.k.a., the "Peacemaker"), had their old cap and ball revolvers converted to fire cartridge rounds.

Image

The revolver shoots .38 Colt (short or long), and .38 Special.

To me, these two just kind of "go-together"

What do you think? :D

VERY nice looking pair for sure! And even more special because of your Dad....
I have been thinking of getting a companion (side arm) to go with the 1892 Japchester :) 45LC Trapper I just picked up...thinking of a Ruger 5.5 or 7.5 inch in 45LC, but have not decided for sure...

yk- your daily's are fitting in with my morning quiet time. I read the bible, get prayers going up and then turn to the daily post. very kewl. blessings. I love the connection to your father through the guns. My dad did not own firearms.

These are great Ysabel...keep em coming. Great to see that you've honored your Dad by keeping and passing on what was important to him.
