Q. Why did you feel the need to share this with the Leverguns forum?

So, we maintain a level of appropriateness here. It's a family forum and some topics are not appropriate to such an atmosphere. It's not about OT - it's about the content of the OT topic. This forum is not about "anything goes" - on the contrary, we expect folks to self police and maintain a site to which all age groups may participate.

I didnt see it but I agree that thus forum has been pretty good about content. I have visited a few other sites that are not what i want with alot of garbage content. I say straighten up or go back to where you came from.

I never said that. Nor can I review all posts. To what post are you referring?

A more explicit warning than "the language is pure Brooklyn" would have been nice. Something along the lines of "Rude obnoxious profane yankee language" (isn't that kind of redundant?) [the comment on redundancy is a feeble attempt at humor] would have been appropriate. But the guy makes sense if you can get through his inane use of inappropriate verbs. In other words, pointing out the inappropriateness of frisking for knives and guns while handing out baseball bats which can be used to bash in heads - what's wrong with that? The language used, however, is inappropriate to the site. As is the use of certain emoticons... Not pointing fingers and again calling us all to self police. Let's keep this site a polite place to meet. Language and images should be clean enough to use in front of my grandma (mine being specified because some folks have wild grannies...) and warnings about language and topics should accompany links. Self policing is the key. We should not need heavy handed moderation techniques.

Given the general low quality...

of "you tube" links , and by that I'm NOT merely referring to the picture quality....I'd support a NO-LINK policy. If you got something to say...sit down and write it out in the King's english. Seems like here lately, on a lot of otherwise fine forums....folks simply post some kind of "video-link". I don't even open'em. I'll read what you have to say, and respect your right to your opinion...if'n you think enough of it to take time to write it out, but don't boher me with "links" to make your point.

One point was a general one.. not just related to this forum, but just about every one I visit. I don't get why people feel the need to propagate this stuff on every internet forum (the content of this particular link being irrelevant to my point).

Why turn EVERY internet forum into a "news group"? Someone sees a story on the Ruger forum, and they run and post it on the Leverguns forum. Or they see a story here, and feel compelled to rush to the S&W forum and post it there. This goes beyond shooting forums, to all forums. I can see it if it's slightly relevant or on topic, but why the OT stuff? What's the desire to take the Leverguns forum (or any forum) and turn it into the "EVERYTHING FORUM." To make them all look exactly the same, with the same topics and content on every website.

I guess I don't get out enough. Most of the stuff I get is via e-mail - about forty eleven copies of every junk message out there eventually. The internet - today's general store stove and cracker barrel I guess...

I decided along time ago that a couple of posters are to be generally avoided by me because of the content of several of their post. I don't have to be a part of that lifestyle,I can decide what open without complaining.
