1st Gen Colt SAA to go with Lever.
I found a Colt 1 st Generation SAA that has had it's 7 1/2 inch barrel cut off by the previous owner to 5 1/2 at my local dealer. One of the grips is cracked and the front sight is a homemade blade. It is very good mechcanicaly and about a 75% SA. It was made in 1915. It's a shooter. Whats it worth? He is trading for it. I don't know what would be a good price for me to offer and put it with my 1892 Winchester SRC. Ya'll have any ideas.

Caliber can have a lot to do with it but if that gun would letter it would be in the $3000 range. But because it has been modified and is no longer correct you can figure $1500 to maybe $2000. Now, if you had it lettered and it was actually sent to someone famous all bets are off.
I have this one here on consignment. It's a 38-40 made in 1899 and has been lettered but it left the factory as an all blue gun. The owner want $1900 for it but $1500-$1700 would be more realistic.

This one was one of the first batch that went to the Calvary in 75. Even though it's all brown, cut down it's still worth $2500 +
