"A New System of Government?"

Post by Old No7 »

Got this from the local gun club...

New ? ? ?

Gee, I'd say we've had that system for years ! ! !

Ineptocracy

(in-ep-toc'-Ra-cy)

A new system of government where the least capable to lead

are elected by the least capable of producing

and where the members of society least likely to sustain themselves or succeed

are rewarded with goods and services paid for

by the confiscated wealth of a diminishing number of producers.

Well, you pretty well described every form of government that man has come up with so far.

I got this out of the definition above:

Government

[guhv-ern-muh nt, -er-muh nt]

A parasitic social adjunct wherein the least capable to lead are chosen, by those members of society least capable of producing and least likely to sustain themselves, to facilitate the confiscation and redistribution of earned wealth from un(der)represented producers.

Government office attracts the power-mad, yet it's people who just want to be left alone to live life on their own terms who are considered dangerous.

History teaches that it's a small window in which people can fight back before it is too dangerous to fight back.

The common medical term for such a malady effecting the populace is called gonnareelectem....
The most important aspect of this signature line is that you don't realize it doesn't say anything significant until you are just about done reading it & then it is too late to stop reading it....

A slight thread drift, but I always thought the lunar government as depicted in Robert Heinlein's "The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress" would be one to try.

Of course you gotta read the book to find out what it is, cos I can't remember much about it. Been a few summers since I read it.

Been almost 50 years since I read it, but I get the drift. Mainly one of personal responsibility vs a dependence on government. All of Heinlein's books have this element. I like these quotes from his books:

"An armed society is a polite society"

"The human race divides politically into those who want people to be controlled and those who have no such desire."

"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, command a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."

He probably would have been an interesting person to meet.
