Peggy McPherson Update

Post by CowboyTutt »

Hello guys. I just noticed that a very old thread on the well being of Peggy McPherson was resurected, so I thought I would post an update.

I just saw Peggy briefly over Spring Break while in Colorado. Mic was out of town, but I decided to stop by for a short visit anyhow with Mic's blessing. Peggy looked good. Her hair was more blonde than I remember, but she was in good spirits. Unfortunately, Peggy is now legally blind, so she can't see well at all. The disability checks have finally started to show up, so I think the family will make it.

To those of you that were there, your generosity and contributions saved this family from losing their house. Apparently, Colorado is one of the worst, if not THE worst, state to get disability awarded. While the checks for past medical bills are coming in, they have yet to assign her an account number to bill new medical procedures to. Hopefully, this situation will resolve itself soon. Sometime after I left, Prof. Boomer told me Peggy had a pretty bad day, so I think her health varies from day to day. But she is alive, and the house is still theirs.

To all of you who participated, you should be really proud of what you did. It was a particularly neat thing to introduce our own Steve Young to Mic at the SHOT Show, as Steve was one of the first to donate to Peggy's cause (and I told Mic that very fact). It was really neat to see these fella's discuss gunsmithing. Thanks to all of you who were there and particpated.

Thanks for the update. It's always great to get good news. Mic's a great guy. Someday I hope to meet Peggy as well.
