I took a lever gun OF COURSE.

My wife's Rossi M92 .454. She warned me not to tear it up, but she let me take it.
We saw some cool stuff, that I did not need a rifle for. A fly-rod was more useful.

I think that was a Lamprey Eel, right? See This Link For More Info, what a nasty fish...Old Savage wrote:Nice, what is that sucker mouthed fish?
Looks like the mouth of a Lamprey...Old Savage wrote:Nice, what is that sucker mouthed fish?
The beaver is about the best plane ever built for bush flying, along with the single otter, and the goose is pretty cool.BigSky56 wrote:Nice pics, you guys had fun and got to ride in a beaver.danny
When you come up, let me know!DadsMod12 wrote:WOW!!!!
I've been to 49 states and now I can't wait to get to Alaska. Maybe in 2 years.
Yeah, that's how I traveled when I was growing up. The only way in or out of the village i lived in was boat or float plane, and by boat it was a full day to the nearest big (for us) town.Grizz wrote:great post.
not much sweeter than floating over the landscape in a Beaver.... makes me homesick for sure.

You aren't kidding. I'm in Tununak right now, sitting in a tent, waiting for the state to approve some insurance paperwork so I can go to work. Everything I do on the internet from here is excruciatingly slow.Sixgun wrote: It must have taken you quite some time to share those pictures to which we thank you very much!
So are you insinuating that you ex was a big-mouthed, slimy, sharp-tongued, clinging, bloodsucking parasite, or did you mean she had perfect teeth and a clean smile?BlaineG wrote: BTW, thanks...I wondered where my Ex ended up....
+1 ... the only other word I could think of is WOW...which has already been expressed...good choice in levergun...earlmck wrote:Beeeeyouteeefulll!
The bear were not too scary. The sows with cubs meant I moved forward with the rifle in my hand, and the one bear that you see the butt-end photo of walked right into the middle of us and acted nervous and confused, so it was round-in-the-chamber and rifle on the shoulder at that point, with the bear only 7 or 8 feet away at the closest point. Otherwise I would have gotten some really cool photos of him. He stretched out one paw (with his head turned away as if to keep us from seeing him) and hooked a fish with one claw and took off. The fish had been dropped by an eagle, I think.gundownunder wrote:That looks like mother nature at her finest. Although with that many bears I doubt I'd be willing to put the 454 down long enough to take a pic of it.
Looks like there are some nice trout to be had up there. What are the bright red fish?
I never fished freshwater down in your corner of the country, either, because I wasn't into the type of freshwater fishing down there.guido4198 wrote:No interest in fishing Freshwater.
Your beautiful photos have me wondering about reviving my Freshwater game and heading NORTH..!!
We need to fix that . . .guido4198 wrote: Never caught a Salmon..
No need, she caught them far faster than we were - it took her maybe 3 to 5 seconds every time she went into the water to come up with a trout of dolly in her mouth.gcs wrote:But did you give momma mink a fish?
Nice! Where were you at?bulldog1935 wrote:
Awesome times, and reminds me of an August fly-out I had more than a few years ago.
Mink. Like most members of the weasel family, they are bold and inquisitive. The light was wrong and the photo did not come out, but one swam out and climbed up on someone's legs.Panzercat wrote:So you got to feed the weasles? Otters?
Looked like they wanted to come home with you
