A friend just sent me this pick. Brings back memories of my childhood. :-)

Wow, there's enough snake there to feed half a village. What kind of serpent is that?

I gotta agree with that. Wonder how many it would feed.

AmBraCol - Do they have those where you are?

Paul, be careful down there - that is not a speed bump - it is a big snake.

Anaconda. Looks to be over 16 foot long, judging from the probable width of the truck road it's crossing.

Only in the zoo up here. Well, maybe down in the Cauca valley, just west of us. And definitely out in the eastern plains region. But up here in the Andes? Only in the zoo. We had plenty of them in Brazil where I was raised though.

Dad had a boa skin he picked up in '67. It had a hole up near the neck where someone had used it as a speedbump. He finished it off and got the skin. Don't think they allow importation of the skins anymore. Anyway, we never caught up with one in that size range. I skinned a 2 meter one back in '88 that we caught not too far from our camp on the Farinha river. It fried up OK, but tough. The rooster he killed (that had 2 inch spurs) made for better eating...

I was in Panama for a couple years........Nothing like coming back from the NCO club at 0100hrs, a bit tippsy, and tripping over one like that on the shortcut across the Parade Field. It was NOT a good idea to leave your pets tied up outside in Panama, DogGone It.......
