Winchester Goodwin?

Post by morgan in nm »

Anybody here know what happened to him? A few years ago, I used to order original parts from him. He had them all. I found him advertised in Shotgun News in 2000 and have since not seen any ads. I don't even remember if that was his real name. I was looking at a SRC 1912 that he helped me with and was just wondering if he was still around.

if you mean Fred Goodwin up in Maine... Yup he's still around, 97 or 100 years old. Sold all hsi Winchester stuff about a year ago, now I hear he's back into it.

That him. Years ago, I had bought a SRC made in 1912 that was in good shape but it was missing the saddle ring. I called him up and he had one the same year and sold it to me for $10. He once tried to sell me all of his stuff but there was no way I could possibly afford it. He said he was going to retire and that was the last I heard from him. He is a good guy.

Thanks, I was looking for an early semi-buckhorn sight for a winchester so I might try to get ahold of him.
