336 SC, 35 Rem, Mfg. 1953 (find of the day)
Hi gang.
Posted this on the Marlin forum and thought I would also share this with all of you.
The find of the day is this beautiful 336SC (Sporting Carbine) in 35 Rem. made in 1953.Got it for $400 and couldn't walk away.No extra holes drilled and smoother than silk.
(Noticed a dealer in Missouri has one about the same for $1,000.He says he has sold many of these for between $600 and $800.)
If this is true, my wife shouldn't be too upset.
This is my second 35 Rem, 336 and this one will be a keeper.

That's a nice one, joe. You shoulda' been here today: Bill in Oregon and I got out to the local gravel pit and ventilated tin cans with a couple of 336A's of that same caliber and vintage. And we needed more help: I came back with some unfired ammunition.

Looks like my 51 35 Rem. Yours has more blue than mine but mine sure is smooth.

Hey, that thing is exactly as old as I am and in so very much better shape!
Joe, you are going to have to work the lever smartly for it to feed that 50 BMG round ...

.
Nice find, at a VG price - the last .35 SC I sold went for $600, several years ago.

Very nice I had one identical to that one that was made in 1952 . Picked it up maybe 10 years ago in Hamlin PA for the ungodly summ of $250 !
Kept it about 6 years and sold it for twice the price .
Gun liked the RCBS 35-200 and Ranch Dog 359-190GC bullets quite a bit .
