Due to a shortage of available IMR4350, I've been working on a fallback load for my 1902 C. Gustaf Swedish Mauser.
Found it.
43.5gr H4831SC over a Hornady 140gr A-Max. 6 shots at 100 yds.

Rangetime with the Swede
Some people just need a sympathetic pat on the head.....with a hammer. Repeatedly.
Re: Rangetime with the Swede
That should work. I love them Sweedes. I should load up some 140, but I keep playing with lighter bullets, mostly 120 SMKs.
Re: Rangetime with the Swede
Very nice!
I knew from the target that group was done with iron sights -- not too many old milsurps (or newly-made scoped rifles with an "average Joe" deer hunter pulling the trigger) can do any better!
Now you just need to get a few, um, "accessories"... By the way, my 2 Swedes (a Winch Mdl 70 Featherweight, and an original m/38b from WWII era) do their best with Hornady's 129 gr spitzer; it's a great compromise between the 120s and 140s.
Tight groups!

Sure do shoot well don't they?
If I do not breathe or wiggle mine will put them inside a dime at a 100

Re: Rangetime with the Swede
I had the 96 Swede ...That old Swede was the most accurate and easiest to load for rifle I ever got my hands on. Never thought an open sighted rifle with the 29 inch barrel, a one inch striker fall would be capable of sub MOA 100yd bench rested groups!( IMR 4350/Sierra Pro Hunter120 gainers)
On metal critters: 120s for chicken slapping and 140s for the 500m Rams a treat.
