Levers in Rifle Magazine #237
Just downloaded the latest issue of Rifle Magazine and found 2 articles by Pierce on Levers: One on a Marlin Guide Gun and one on a custom Marlin 1894 Take-down. (stainless with an octagon bbl)
As a side note, there's also an article on the 35 Whelen for those of us that are interested.

I have a subscription, but I like getting the magazines in the mail. After looking at electronic documents all day long, it's nice to have the real thing your hands.
Rifle and Handloader are probably the only two gun rags on the market I like. Guns 'n' Ammo is pretty lame.

My only problem with the print version of Rifle is that I seem to get mine earlier than most in the mail. Then when I post about articles I get these long periods of online silence that are akin to the blank stare or
.
Otherwise, Rifle and Handloader are my most anticipated issues. I used to look forward to American Rifleman but these days it seems like it's just a giant glossy ad ... for something / most anything.

The first issue of Rifle I read had an article about minimizing meat damage. I thought that was pretty cool when all the rage recently is about super magnums that fling a bullet as fast as the laws of physics allow and turn meat into jelly upon impact.
They also have a good mix of features on working man's rifles, super expensive rifles, and historical pieces. A lot of publications seem to cater to people with 3 grand to drop on a rifle and an extra grand for a scope.

Can I ask what they had to say about the Guide Gun? I've got it in my mind that I have to have a 1895GS. Thanks...cnjarvis wrote:Just downloaded the latest issue of Rifle Magazine and found 2 articles by Pierce on Levers: One on a Marlin Guide Gun ...
