.30 carbine Marlin Lever Action????

Post by Jason_W »

I saw one used in a local gunshop saturday. Kind of a cool idea and if I had money to burn, I may have bought it.

I don't recall the model number, though.

Not that I could afford one in my current financial crisis but how much was he asking, and what condition was it in? I've always wanted one.

Off the top of my head, I can't remember the exact price. I think in the $500 range.

It looked good on the outside, but I didn't check the bore.

[I don't recall the model number, though.]

It was a Model 62 Levermatic Rifle, Jason.

IIRC, They were issued in .256 Winchester & .30 Carbine.

I saw one at a local gun show recently for $375. I would have bought it in a second if I had the cash. They are neat rifles. I owned one once and it was a shooter. I just wish the magazines held more rounds.

Yeah, I had to pass on one that was asking only $375... Timing is everything. I'd love a .256, the perfect example for the collection, odd chambering AND rifle in one.
Sincerely,

Hobie
