Monte, I have Marlin Cowboy 1894`s 24" in .357,.44mag. and .45 Colt.
I love them all and if I had to pick a favorite "fun" gun it would be the .357.
If I was going hunting,I would grab the .45 first and the .44 second.
Now if I can count my 1895 Cowboy .45-70 in with the other cowboys,it would be my #1 pick for hunting with the .45 second.

I just got a CL 32-20 for silhouette about 6 months ago. I love it!! Very accurate with cast bullets, cheap to shoot (900 rounds to the pound of powder!) no recoil to speak of, just fun to shoot. The feel of the rifle is very much like my 39a as far as weight, LOP, etc, which is another nice feature. I have a 44-40 1873 Uberi I had been using and have just about retired it in favor of the 32-20.
I really loved my 1894CL 32-20. This is one fun and useful little rifle on the ranch. I just gave it to my 10 yr old son last xmas. We went out and ridded the world of 3 porcupines tonight before dark. These guns shoot well and aren't terrible noisy. I'm sure the 32 H&R would be fun as well, but you can get a lot more soup out of the 32-20.
