A friend of mine has four Savage ML-10's (yeah, I know ) and says every one of them will shoot five-shot cloverleafs at 100 yards using 5744 powder and double-saboted bullets. I've shot his recipe through mine and get 1-1/2" groups, but he's a better shot than me.

Some apparently may diasagree, but I love my .243 Savage, even with a tuppperware stock, because it is accurate.

100yd. target. Dead center shot was the third shot flyer after the barrel began to heat up.

$400 sporter from WalMart with a $100 Simmons scope.

No disagreement here...

I killed a deer in 2012 using the old barrel and 5744 . But to be honest I prefer VV N-110 .

Now this thing they're sending me is supposed to be a totally new gun from stem to stern .

At one point a couple years back I had wanted to get a second one and put a PacNor 45 cal barrel on . But I never did go thru with it .

The 243 used to be my favourite groundhog cartridge but that changed once I got a heavy barrel 25-06 .

Of all the deer I've taken over the years I took my second with a 243 this year . Used the Ruger 1B I bought my pop a few years back . That was only the second deer I'd ever fired a 243 at as well . Maybe next year I can pop one with my old Mannlicher Schoenauer 243 MCA Carbine .

What do you mean by "managed" ?

For the one I had previousely I weighed all chrages on a scale . Most times using 42 grains of VV N-110 and in the 2012 season trying XMP5744 again weighing on a scale .
