HUMOR? - Fair and Accurate Reporting by the Media

Post by Old Ironsights »

A biker is riding by the zoo, when he sees a little girl leaning into the lion's cage. Suddenly, the lion grabs her by the cuff of her jacket and tries to pull her inside to slaughter her, before the eyes of her screaming parents. The biker jumps off his bike, runs to the cage and hits the lion square on the nose with a powerful punch. Whimpering from the pain the lion jumps back letting go of the girl, and the biker brings her to her terrified parents, who thank him endlessly.

Witnessing this, a reporter asks the biker, "Sir, that was the most gallant and brave thing I've ever seen in my whole life."

"Nah, it was nothing really," said the biker, "the lion was behind bars. I just saw this little kid in danger, and did what I felt was right."

"I noticed that patch on your jacket." said the journalist.

"Yeah I ride with a Christian motorcycle club." the biker replies.

"Well, I'll make sure this won't go unnoticed. I'm a journalist, you know, and tomorrow papers will have this on the front page."

The following morning the biker checks the paper to see if he is indeed on
front page.

Sure enough, the headline reads...

That is so close to the truth it isn't even funny. I know there are a FEW exceptions, but in general I respect those in the news media far less than I respect rapists and murderers, because the latter group only harms one person at a time, and you can 'cure' them legally with a dose of lead. American 'journalists' on the other hand are destroying a whole nation, and in the process endangering many millions of lives. Plus, you can't legally 'cure' them - the only way is to try to educate them with facts, but their insect-like attention span is so short and geared to the sensational that even major gun information is ignored as 'off topic' or 'biased' as they move on to the next formula piece.

That's the main reason I don't get a newspaper. I've literally been in the "biker's" position, heard what the PIO had to say about the incident I was involved in and lo and behold it ends up so screwed up you'd have to be really working at it to get it that far off. Refuse to read anymore papers.
