Short barreled Marlin 1895CB

Post by Whit Spurzon »

I spotted a shorter barreled Marlin 1895 CB with the octagon barrel in the racks on a recent visit to the fun store. It looked exactly like my 1895CB except for the shorter (20?) barrel. Now I want one. Were they a special run?

I have never heard of a 1895CB coming from Marlin with a 20 inch barrel. Now, that does mean much as I'm no Marlin expert by any means. I have seen 1895CB's, pics, that have been cut down and they look really nice. I have considered doing it to mine.

Davidson's had a special run of 1000 with 18.5" barrels. Called it the LTDIII. There were LTD's I-V, with different features spread over five years each in a run of 1000.

Grizz,
Do you want to pick it up for me? I'll kick in some gas money :P

If I recall it was around $800 which is why I didn't jump on it. Now I'm thinking I should have grabbed it. At the time I figured I could just get my 26" barreled Cowboy shorted and still be ahead. Now I'm not so sure.

Shore 'nuff. I love free gas. It's a limited III and to my everlasting chagrin I had one in my hands that I could have bought for $465, and I DIDN'T GET IT !!!

So I have to kick myself in the butt over it every chance I get.

Tell ya one thing straight up tho, if I had it I sure wouldn't part with it for a measly 8 bills, no way...

You'd be money up to get one of them too-long cowboy models and a hack saw. That's what I'm waiting for... ;)

Looks like there's a hack saw CB on GB right now...

After seeing 2ndovc's I'm going to hold out and try to find one of those. NICE!!!

The too long cowboy is nice at the range but I really didn't like it out in the field. One afternoon of hunting with it and I went back to my guide gun.

Grizz, sent you a PM. I probably won't make it down there again anytime soon so I'd rather see it go to someone on the forums I frequent so I can at least enjoy it vicariously.
