I've always wanted one of these and was just never in the right place with the right $.
Well just so happened that Vance put a couple up for sale and he just happened to want
my Browning '95.
He also just happened to be coming up for the National Matches at Camp Perry close to where I live.
We had dinner and a couple beers, BS'd for a while and made the trade.
Had a great time and ended up with a really sweet .44!
I was hoping the sun would come out to get a good shot at the case colors but that's not
going to happen for another week.

You are going to like the Colt. Mine was very accurate. IMO one of the best single actions ever made. The think Elmer would have loved the gun you got.
BTW, what is the story on that Ruger?

I had the Super Black Hawk worked over by Hamilton Bowen about ten years ago and is my all time favorite hand gun.
It's an OM that had almost no finish that I picked up at a show in MI for $200. I had him shorten the barrel, new sights,
action job and off to Turnbull for case hardening.
Here's a little better photo.
Hoping the New Frontier shoots as good as it looks.

I have a 44sp NF I picked up, about 3 years ago. Cyl. mouths are .432" IIRC. Luckily, my lyman 429421 mould casts @.433", so it worked out well. Big difference in accuracy, when I actually measured the cyl throats after shooting some .430" boolits thru the gun. Went to .433 and groups shrunk to about 1/3 the size before I did the measuring, @50ft (indoor range shooting).
