OT - S. Cal Reunion

Ah, Camp Pendleton in the springtime! Probably the LAST unsullied place on the left coast! But, don't these idiots understand gas is $4/gal!!!!

Going to mid-OR on a liesurely drive up I-5. I'd take US-101, but thery don't allow pull-toys as big as mine on too many stretches.

I'm pickin' up my new '51 Colt tonite. Too bad the SoCal Reunion wasn't this weekend! Oh well, I enjoyed the pics. Everyone have a safe Easter and watch, I'm out here  !

Griff,

You're the guy that drives the nice Pete aren't you??? Be careful out there!! I've got a buddy that drives a 2000 KW hauling apples once a week from Wa. St down to LA then vegetables back up to Spokane Wa. I have nothing but admiration for you truck drivers.

I've got a 1986 Peterbilt 359 with a 3406C mechanical for hauling my fruit from farm to warehouse. What a rush to drive that old baby!!! We pull twin 30' trailers, 82 feet from stem to sturn!

Fill me in on your truck if you don't mind! You listen to XM or Serius???

Have a safe trip!!

Griff are you still down here at Pendleton?
If so you should have sent me a PM. I have been hoping that you would make it out this way before my orders kick in.

Geoff, yep, that's me. Love those 359's! Almost as much as the "Needlenose" models from the mid 60's!

Jeremy, no was kinda in a rush to get up to Tustin to see my niece's dad, pick up one of my '51 Navies, and drop off another! Was hoping that he might be able to repair while we waited, but the hand was pretty much toast and the 'smith said he'd have to go to the shop to do some welding. Unfortunately, there isn't anyplace except that rest area from Oceanside to San Clemente to stop and park this ol' truck. Would have loved to stop and shake your hand and personally thank you for your service. Maybe next time.

I hear you on the parking. One of these days I'll catch you when you come through.

It's possible... buut please don't count on it. The wife informed me I can't take any more timeoff till May! The illness put me way behind. Beancounters & lawyers... whenever they're in charge quality goes down & we get un-needed safeties! I think there's a trend in there!
