I'm looking for information on the Marlin 1894 chambered in .22 magnum.
1) What years were they made??
2) What was their reputation like?? Seems to be a pretty large action for the .22 magnum. Any feeding problems???
3) How often do you see them for sale???
4) Was there only one configuration made? The one I saw seemed to be a 20" barrel in a short rifle configuation.
I appreciate any light you guys can shed on this for me.

"The Marlin Model 1894M was made from 1983 to 1988. There were a total of 12,088 of them made during the production run."
Some are said to have feeding problems. Mine doesn't.
An quick internet search shows a few for sale.

Thankyou kindly for your fine answers to my questions.
I shouldered that 1894M for the first time and was quite impressed. Casually think about getting one for my 15 year old boy to shoot lever action silhouette with. We will see what the present owner of this 1894M will do with it, sell it or keep it.

I paid $399.00 with a scope mounted. I may return mine to Marlin for a new stock set. The previous owner was pretty clumsy I'm thinking. The metal is nearly perfect.

The 22mag works well for pistol caliber, but I have seen the rams get "ringed" and just budge a little, rather than fall, when hit low center.
The 1894CL 32-20 is just like shooting a 22mag, but in 30 caliber. You can reload this for half the price of 22mag Winchester Supremes and it weighs about the same as the 1894M.

Good advice regarding the .22 Mag and silhouette and the .32-20. Right now I'm shooting an original 1892 Winchester in .25-20 and it works perfect. My only problem is that during the busy farming season I can barely get enough time to handload for me. Now with trying to get my 15 year old son shooting silhouette I thought that maybe this .22 mag might be the way to go for him.
