Tried the single six with 6 shots in 4 seconds and I dont think its going to work. I can do six shots in about 4-5 seconds, but six in 4 and accurate too just doesnt happen.
I might have to try a Norinco 1911a1 in 9mm, they go for about $550 over here and I'm told they make a good project gun.

Sorry Ysabel whereever you think I said that, you either misunderstood me or I didn't state the facts clearly. In Western Australia we actually have less latitude, not more. Our cops are the most difficult in Australia when it comes to gun licensing. One of the dumb ideas that I think is specific to WA is the low power law, which basically classes anything with a factory loading above 2000fps as a high powered weapon and those below are low powered and you need a property half the size of Texas if you want a high power for hunting purposes. As far as handgun licensing, for the discipline I shoot which is lever action rifle and revolver I can have any revolver up to .357 with a minimum barrel length of 4" and for the side events like mandar and field pistol I can have a revolver or semiauto up to .357 with a minimum 4" barrel. If I wanted to get into bigger caliber I would need to join a western action or metallic silhouette club, which are the only two disciplines that are allowed to use calibers up to .45.
Believe it or not those are the kind of laws the liberals and little johnny introduced here in Australia.
Here in WA our gun laws are up for review and one of the insane suggestions they want to implement is to take away the right of cattle station workers to carry a handgun ( up till now handguns such as S&W .357 were allowd to be carried because rifles were not practical on horseback or bike) which means if you stack your motorbike or fall off your horse and nobody finds you the feral pigs get to have you for dinner, or if a scrub bull decides to shove a horn up your @ you better be able to run fast and climb trees well.

G'day Bob...
For a little over $900 you can pick up a top quality Croatian HS Product HS2000 in 9mm or .357Sig with 4x 10 round mags. They are becoming popular here in IPSC as .357Sig is now allowed in major, allowing Aussies to shoot in that class(pre 2008 .40cal minimum). Apparently they are accurate and very reliable... word is the Yanks reckon they out Glock a Glock.
I want one in .357Sig(.40cal case necked down to 9mm and will feed any projectile shape)... click on FIREARMS to see on following site >>--->

The Croatian HS Product HS2000 is known in the States as the Springfield XD. I own 3 of them. A .45acp and 2 in 9mm. They are a great pistol. Here in the free state of West Virginia my 9s have a 16 round magazine, the .45 has 13.

Just read a couple writeups on the HS2000 and they sound extremely good. I will need to try and get my hands on one to see if it fits my hand, since it is designed for a double stack mag same as the glog(which I hate and cant handle). I know the 1911 fits my hand cause ive used one once or twice, thats what made me think of that first.

It depends on what you want the gun for. Small game, varmint shooting. Home protection. Something to plink with.( what we call informal shooting) Shooting at formal matches.
I am a died in the wool revolver man. I do own some semi autos but when I do carry a handgun it is always a revolver. In fact, I plan to get some exercise this morning by going for a long walk in the woods. The non game species are open so I will be carrying two handguns. One will be a TC Contender with a 14" 22 WRM barrel on it and my Ruger SS with the 22 WRM cylinder in place. I don't think a crow or porcupine will endanger my life being so well armed.
If I were in your area I might look into a good double action revolver such as a 5" SW M27 in .357 magnum or try to get a Ruger Redhawk in .357 with the 5.5" barrel. I know that model is discontinued and sometimes can be found on the used gun market but it is a rare bird.
Just my thoughts.

Bob, I'm sure it was my misunderstanding. Man, I'm sorry to hear that. Fewer and fewer places on earth seem to repect the basic rights of a free person.gundownunder wrote:Sorry Ysabel whereever you think I said that, you either misunderstood me or I didn't state the facts clearly.
