I thought Hobie's little quip was funny and not at all offensive. You must be having a bad day, partner!
All is well.

You mean you don't remember Arte Johnson and Ruth Buzzi as the "mature" duffer sitting on the park bench and the young proper lady.... Laugh-in..."Do you want a Walnetto?" - beat, beat, beat....Mescalero wrote:What are walnettos?

Never mind, Junior! Ssheesh - what is this world coming to? And yesterday the clerk at Lowe's didn't know who Ray Charles was, but knew everything about some talentless, unproductive, ditzy dame who inherits part of the Hilton empire!
I told another young lady clerk, after suffering a senior moment, that my memory sometimes hits a glitch. That's what happens to somebody whose next door neighbor was Davey Crockett. Not a blink. Then she said, "I think I've heard of him, somewhere..."
No wonder we're in such a mess! Lady Gaga... Honey Boo Boo...
I think I'm getting sick now.

Even after several days of reflection, I still don't think the comment was funny.

John,
Thanks a bunch for this post. Oh my how I've wondered for 40 years what the heck a Walnetto was. Never did find out until right now. My life is complete I can rest easy now.
Oh, are they still made?

Just my opinion, but I wasted too much time reading this thread. Ho Hum! Again, just my opinion.

Yup. The caramel and walnut confections started dying out about the time that Laugh-in was a popular show, but they have come back. You can Google "Amazon Walnetto" to find a seller or two, or go here:J Miller wrote:...Oh my how I've wondered for 40 years what the heck a Walnetto was. Never did find out until right now. Be glad you don't know. Affirmation in my decision not to have cable TV. Google it if you dare and prepare to be sick at humanity.

Sounds like I am better off not knowing.

?? I found nothing but a reference to the candy.... If it was Laugh In, I'm sure there was a double meaning...vancelw wrote:It's Honey Boo Boo.Mescalero wrote:OK,

Re: Hobie I want to be in Green
OK - Honey Boo Boo is a not-so-overly talented chubby baby girl with strange parents who is entered into those weird baby fashion shows where they dress up babies like adult sexpots - or something. Another one of those time wasting, inane Reality TV shows. The fact that it is popular honestly worries me about this generation of citizens.
I only watched a few seconds of it, and that was because of so many mentions by comedians etc.
I now watch more Netflix movies (and of course Fox News) than anything else.
I know, somebody here has a loved one who watches it. Well - bless them, anyway!
