New airgun.
I treated my self to a new airgun last week and I seem to be getting on with it!
Air arms S200 in .22.
It is made by CZ for an English make, Air arms.
That was last Sunday late afternoon but today I was after more pigeon and rabbit but the cold is keeping critters down! I got one rabbit at 10yds!
later on entering a small wood I spied a bob tailed fox, I waited untill he walked off and I could get a god stand prepped.
After the second squeal in he came trotting like a little dog. He stopped at 15yds but behind sticks! How he never winded me I will never know!
I held steady waiting for his move watching him looking around for that squealing rabbit he just heard! Then he stepped to my left and as he walked I snook a 22 pellet through the ribs. He piled up right there and then got up and ran 10yds, then slowed, paused a second and then trotted off over a brow thirty yards away. As I lost sight I heard a crash! Just before he went over the brow I noticed a subtle change in his body language that made me think he was about to go down!
I waited a while and aproached slowly and sure enough there he was deader than a dead thing!

Can you hook those up to an Air Pump for tyres? Like the 12V you plug into the power point in the car?

Re: New airgun.
Pcp air guns are charged two ways. You can have them charged from a scuba tank or you can use a high pressure hand pump. Car pumps do not generate enough pressure to be used by air guns.
Nath, over here, the .177 in that model shoots at 800fps. What does the .22 do over on that side of the pond.?

If I had to guess Mike I would say around 650fps.rjohns94 wrote:Pcp air guns are charged two ways. You can have them charged from a scuba tank or you can use a high pressure hand pump. Car pumps do not generate enough pressure to be used by air guns.

Re: New airgun.
Nath, nice rifle and a fine shot. I had a Marauder in .25 and using the fine English Hill pump I was able to keep it well filled.
Re: New airgun.
Tell us about the scope.
Re: New airgun.
The scope is just a Weaver 3-9x40, had it years.
It never ceases to amaze me just how efficient these airguns are, light bullets/pellets with accuracy.
Taught me less is more a long time ago!

Fine looking air rifle and some good shooting too! Are those pre-charge rifles easier on scopes than the spring guns?
Re: New airgun.
Certainly, next to nothing going on in a pre-charged!olyinaz wrote:Fine looking air rifle and some good shooting too! Are those pre-charge rifles easier on scopes than the spring guns?

Re: New airgun.
Nice. A lot less damage than the .308 too.
30/30 Winchester: Not accurate enough fer varmints, barely adequate for small deer; BUT In a 10" to 14" barrelled pistol; is good for moose/elk to 200 yards; ground squirrels to 300 metres

Re: New airgun.
The best part of this hunt was watching him studying the ground, ears tuned to the slightest sound. Truely in tune with his enviroment and a survivor. If not for some brash between us he would of made me for sure. I am glad I chose the spot to stand with cover around, a pain to shoot through but it buy's time!

Re: New airgun.
IIRC, England has a 12fpe limit on airguns...over that it requires a firearms permit.Nath wrote:If I had to guess Mike I would say around 650fps.rjohns94 wrote:Pcp air guns are charged two ways. hand pumping a PCP is not for the faint-hearted if you have the larger air tanks...or one like the walther dominator that will take 4800 psi.
my AF Talon will send a .22 caliber, 21 grain, H&N Barracuda match pellet nearly 850 fps.
the world of PCP air rifles is another different and wonderful world. the state of Arizona recently opened big game hunting with air guns of 32 caliber and larger.
here in California we may legally hunt small game and turkey (Big game) with at least a .177 air gun.
if you think you're influencial, try telling someone else's dog what to do---will rogers
