Winchester 5 leaf express rear sight

Post by kimwcook »

Anyone try one of these? I'd like to know if they're a quality product and how they worked. Thanks.

Aren't most Winchester rear sight dovetails 3/8" instead of 1/2"? I'm not a '76 person so I could be completely wrong there. Perhaps they make a 3/8" version also? Otherwise, it looks like a nice and unusual sight.

They're 3/8's. The dovetail on the five leaf would have to be cut down.
There's a three leaf on that site that's the correct 3/8's.

Express sights are regulated to a particular load. This entails filing each leaf to match the load at each range setting. Once done that's it, although it is possible to use other loads by changing the front sight.
