New S&W 22

Post by pwl44m »

I picked this up a couple weeks ago. I haven't shot it on paper but I popped 3 rnds in the back yard and it seems like it will shoot pretty straight. Like I needed another 22. It is a sharp looking little Pistol with the contrasting colors. I guess I could mount a Red Dot or Laser on that rail.
Nuthin special so a couple pics for Ya.

I'll trade you a Heritage RoughRider, and a brick of ammo for it   If you don't want the RoughRider, I'll give you the brick and 20 bucks :D :D :D

I like it! And I like .22 pistols in general also, but the lack of ammo availability has really put me off shooting them at this time. Either the manufacturers need to produce ten times as much .22 LR as they are or this dumb bass ammo craze needs to end.

Sorry, didn't mean to hijerk your thread, but the subject of .22 LR has me a bit grumpy of late. (And yes, I've still got a half dozen bricks left, but jeez, there's NONE of the stuff around and hasn't been for months now...)
Cheers,
Oly

I think we were all used to burning through .22 lR like there was no tommorow, that now that we don't see it everywhere we have become more prudent.
When I was a kid. I could buy it at the local convience store.

Oly, I know what You mean, I'm fixed for ammo but like You I don't want to just burn thru it, but I do want to break it in.
Mescalero, U must be older than Me, We didn't have convenience stores when I was Kid,but I do remember saving for a month to buy a tube of BBs at Dunnings corner grocery. :o

We have a fellow at the club who used his for .22 silhouette. Does ok out to 100 yards!

@Mescalero, that is the takedwn button. Press that and it hinges down to come apart. I didn't read instructions "First" like it says to do and finally figured out how to put it back together.

The noise is one thing I did notice. That is the reason I only fired 3 rounds in the back yard, didn't want to attract attention.

Wonder why, I don't think my 4" Ruger MkII is overly loud.

I shot quite a few of them back when there were several other similar models out (422, 622, etc).

The middle-of-the-grip mag release took a bit getting used to, but they were good shooters and accurate.

Still prefer a Buckmark but they do fine for their intended purpose.

I've long wondered about the 22S and 22A (not sure what the difference is or if there is one). I know that's only a sample of two, but I may just have to keep an eye out for a reasonably priced one next time I'm out.
