Savage 23C Sporter chambered in 32-20. I think it's been refinished, but the rollstamps are still real sharp. I can't tell if there a some blued pits, on the barrel, or it's some dings. The bore is perfect and everything including the receiver sight looks legit. I had Jack the Dog and Marlinman93 take a look and they think it's a legit "not shot or handled a lot" rifle. I'm wavering towards a real professional job though.

I know a whole lot about very little and nothing about a whole lot.

Not being qualified one way or the other to make a call, but having known MM93 on this forum for what must be 10 years and reading his posts when he posted regularly, I'd be inclined to take his opinion pretty seriously.

Years ago when we lived in Florida my brother had one in 25-20 that WAS a beauty. He rode a little hammer headed cracker cow pony that needed a little correction at times. One time my brother stood up in the stirrups and laid the horse to his knees. The butt stock of that sweet little rifle did not survive. It was a Savage 23 just not sure what one.
