And here I am stuck on just rabbit food. The wife put her foot down and demanded I go back on a diet! She just doesn't appreciate a good shed for the tools!

There is a fine line between hobby & obsession! AND... I'm over it!!
No I ain't ready, but let's do it anyway!
Congrats on a good day, I too love to fish maybe even as much as shooting. There are very few freshwater fish I consider tasty with the exceptions being Crappie and Yellow Perch the Crappie I caught in Lake Shasta, Cali. and the Yellow Perch in Cascade Reservoir, Idaho. The local Channel Cats, and Snakeheads aren't bad but I prefer Mahimahi, Ahi, and Snapper.
The Crappie fishing in Shasta was great fun using ultralight tackle with a noodle rod, and the Crappie were quite sizable in proportion.
I haven't even caught a crappie in years, but bass, catfish, and trout are a different story. I need to go catch a good mess for the new wife and me. She didn't even eat fish until we started going out. She's even started eating seafood and loves it.
