OT- Dust in my Eyes

Post by GANJIRO »

My last day on the job I received a multitude of letters and gifts from all the kids I worked with. For some reason even with my largest darkest sunglasses on dust still kept getting in my eyes. Here's a small sampling.

There's no denying the expressions of kids. They are the only true barometer of one's worthiness; you simply can't get much past them when they're around you all the time. Adults have too much baggage to express themselves as openly.

Not to worry, you'll find another group that needs you... I think we've all got our hands raised!

These letters were just a part of what came from one second grade class, there are plenty more. I was overwhelmed at the response to the news of my departure, these kids are pure gold.

I also received several classroom made wall posters with art, signatures and farewell messages. I'll never get over these kids, they are great and I'm missing them already.

Ji -

You've positively influenced a bunch of young minds. Little better or more worthwhile in life than that!

Heck, I think I'd be flooding the ol' keyboard. Not sure how you managed to type out the post - but I thank you!!! :D

There is no feeling to compare to being loved by children.

You are fortunate to have touched so many lives.

My wife is a Speech Pathologist and spends between 3 months and a year with different
kids that need her help. Every once in a while she comes through the door at
the end of her day with tears in her eyes. That's when I know she has gotten
such a letter saying "goodbye and thankyou".

God bless you Ji
