it's all about wind and humidity. Without those, you can layer up and be cozy at just about any temperature - have to watch out for the frostbite, though.
I promise you 5 degrees there on a still sunny day feels a lot warmer than high-30s, high-humidity Texas winter.
Yep it`s the wind chill that gets ya, if i`d rode it down the highway i`d got frost bite on my face.
Warm up coming Sunday and Mondy of 30 degrees above zero.

Good one. That is a lot of fun. You reminded me of my dirt riding days. Winter was the best, back when we still had them. I rode a Honda 250R, a quick, two stoke three wheeler. The other guys had various sport four wheelers. Whenever we would get a good snow, we couldn't get out in it fast enough. There used to be a big area near the confluence of the Mississippi and Missouri rivers we could ride. Sliding around on the snow and ice was an absolute blast. I always had to duct tape the vents in my helmet to keep the cold out. They built a new lock and dam years ago and most of the old riding area is now under water. Thanks for bringing back great memories.
We hit 20 Today. Felt like a heat wave after the last few days! Lake Erie is starting to freeze over for the first time in a couple years..
When I was a kid you could Drive to the Islands the ice was so thick!
Be careful on that on that thing!

Neat video. Thought you were going to hit the pickup a few minutes into it. I was up in Watertown, SD yesterday. +2°F. About froze my butt off for the few minutes it took to drop off the new horse trailer I delivered to the dealer there. Meanwhile, back in OKC, my wife was enjoying temps in the upper 60's. I keep asking her if she wants to go back to Canada and she keeps telling me "no".
Thanks Pitchy! We where driving around Calgary a couple days ago and I had borrowed my brothers truck. I was going on about how I had to get it back to him and my wife say's whats the rush he has his Harley? These roads are bare pavement! I said " have you figured out the windchill at 30 miles an hour on a bike in this weather it would be 50 below, plus the side streets have 3 inched of snow.
About an hour or two later we pull up to a light on a main road thru the city, and there in front of us is a guy on a sport bike, i look over and grin, " Sharon, remember what I said about it being to cold to ride a bike, guess I was wrong".
