It's amazing some of the thing Israel does that never gets passed the US media. On Direct TV here in Oregon (and prolly other places too) JLTV (Jewish Life TV) is on 24 hrs a day. There are even re-runs of The Soupy Sales Show! And Israel even has it's own "Major League" baseball league.

Israel is appearently a major leader in technology, electronics, and medicine. People are brought to Israel from around the world (even from Jordan, Syria, and other Arab/Muslim nations) for free life saving surgerys and treatments. None of this is reported in the US.

Last month I watched the JLTV news and over 50 rocket attacks on Israeli civilians targets, and only then did Israel retaliate with air strikes. None of this was reported in the US until Israel's air strikes.

Sorry if this is a hijack, but the OP reminded me of JLTV. Nope, I ain't Jewish...

Intel's Pentium II computer chip was designed in the Intel lab near Jerusalem (having driven by it).

Old news now, but this was 13 years ago when the -II was the current top of the line.

Also watched an IDF airstrike go in after the Syrian Army "cough" "Lebanese freedom fighters" fired some Katyushas (which are artillery-size, and fired off a five ton truck......not an RPG in a duffel bag) at Israeli villages across the border.

CNN of course, only reported the reply strike.

In the mid 80's I spent a month-long exercise on the other side of the Jordan River in Amman. Found it interesting that the Jordanian Aviation Manintenance Office was a graduate of BYU here in Utah.

While there I got the unique experience of flying a Cobra 500 feet BELOW Sea Level over the Dead Sea on the way back to the Aqaba sea port.

We could see Israel - but couldn't visit.

Amazing what decades of German reparations accomplished for Israel.

Navy ship that I was on broke it's boilers and we spent a month in Haifa Israel getting them fixed back up. I really enjoyed my stay there and would go back in a second if I could. There's some really great people there.
