Missing Lyman Bullet Mold .. Need Help
I was reading about the 44-40 in a John Taffin article I found online and he mentioned a Lyman mold 429434GC.. & said it works in leverguns..I don't see it listed on Lyman's page..I don't see it at Midway either..Anybody know if this is a special order mold or if it's no longer made..I'm now using the Lyman 429215GC SWC but the crimp groove is in the wrong place, so I have to crimp on the edge of the front band..Having a GC bullet with the crimp groove in the right place would allow me to crimp in a groove & really give me confidence that the bullets won't get shoved back in the cases during cycling ...

Ben,
The 429434 mold, is, unfortunately discontinued. It is like the 427098 in profile except that the back driving band is a gas check shank. To use it in the .44-40, the crimp goes over the front driving band just like on the 427098.
If you would be interested in a single cavity 429434, I know where there is one for sale for $35 + shipping. If you are interested, email me: w30wcf@adelphia.net
