Renewed C&R license and possible new buy

Post by Mike D. »

My C&R renewal came a few weeks back and I nearly tossed it into the shredder because the return address was unfamiliar and didn't mention ATF anywhere. It was from NLC in Atlanta. Whew! At the last second I opened the envelope and saw what it was. I got lucky on that one, for sure.

I found an original, circa 1904, 1886 SRC in .40-82 that I can actually afford, so I am going for it, if it will letter as is. The bore is excellent and the metal is clean, but I have to drive 100 miles to inspect it. As soon as I am able to travel that distance, I will run up to have a look-see. :)

It's doubtful that I can make Reno, Vall, but you never know. My radiation treatments will be completed next Friday but there is a long way to get back to normal. I am still on the feed tube and am just beginning to swallow liquids like Ginger Ale and Pepsi. Can't handle solid food quite yet.
