Why no Marlin .357 in SS?

Post by MikeS. »

They make the 1894 in .44 magnum. I sure wish they would make the .357 in stainless too.

A few years ago they did a run for Davidson's but I missed out on those.

Hey Marlin, make the 1894 .357 in stainless please.

I reckon it's because blue steel and walnut is just real good looking.

I even thought about buying a .44 and re-barrelling it with a stainless barrel in .357, then getting a .357 carrier (blued :( ) to go in it. The bolt, however, posed a problem as it too would be different, and I don't know if you could re-do the face of the stainless one to make it work for .357, or if I'd just have to have a blue bolt on a stainless gun.

I gave up and got a Puma in stainless, and Marlin lost the business.

...but I DO have a 44 Marlin in stainless 8) .

So do I, that's another reason I'd like to have a SS .357.
