Browning Customer Service (Lack of)

My buddy George up here in the hills has a Browning 1886 Saddle Ring Carbine in .45-70 and had a problem with it feeding rounds. The gun has had less than 200 rounds put through it and is almost brand new. Long story short, Browning basically told my buddy that they couldn't/wouldn't do anything about repairing the gun and recommended a non-Browning affiliated gunsmith "down the road". $200 later, my buddy got his gun back from another gunsmith and is very happy with it. He's very unhappy about the the lack of service and customer support on Browning's part.

Well, this week, George gets one of those "HOW ARE WE DOING?" customer feedback cards from Browning. George is just burning after Browning didn't do anything at all for him and plans on flaming Browning for their lack of service. He says he going to be "tactful" (don't know how much "tact" George has left after 25+ spent with LAPD patrol & bomb squad!). He is asking if anybody has any honcho names over at Browning that he can copy with this survey card as he is afraid it will simply go into the "circular file". Thanks in advance,

I don't know any wheels at Browning but can say that I was subjected to the same FU attitude from them. Have not bought any Browings from them lately.

Browning sold all the spare parts for the Miroku produced reproductions to other vendors about twenty years out from production. I had to send my M-71 carbine to Midwest Gun Works for repair. They had to replace the locking bars, which were defective from day one! Don't ever believe that it's your hand opening the lever when discharged, it's poorly fitted or worn bars. The parts for the 1895 went to a Canadian firm. I'm just glad there was a source of supply and expertise.

last year my son in law sent back a browning shotgun for repairs and after a 6 month wait it came back "more" messed up than when he sent it in.not a good thing on opening day of pheasent season :roll: .
