I have been a fan of single shot break open rifles for years owning products from both H&R and Rossi. If I have a choice I prefer them in stainless steel. When I purchased my stainless Rossi 357 mag I also had wanted to order one in 44 mag but production had stopped and they became impossible to find. I've been pining for a stainless single shot 44 mag ever since. I recently discovered that CVA (Connecticut Valley Arms) famous for their muzzleloaders now makes a single center rifle in various calibers including 44 magnum, and in stainless steel. They can be had for as little as $260.00 which sounds more than fair. I'd have to sell to buy but I'm seriously considering one. Does anyone here have any experiance with these CVA single shot rifles? Thanks!

Re: CVA Scout Rifle
They are a well built budget priced rifle made in Spain by bergara, I sold a mate one in 44 magnum & he is wrapped in it, but they cost around $600 here in australia.

Re: CVA Scout Rifle
I really like my CVA Accura II muzzleloader. If they made that in 45 colt, I would buy one for sure.

Re: CVA Scout Rifle
I hear these CVA Scouts also come in a Compact model with open sights, 20 inch barrel (standard model has a 22" barrel), and a 1 inch shorter butt stock. This CVA Scout Compact actually has more appeal to me for my use crawling through dense vegetation "pig tunnels" on my knees after irate boars.
