The English bit:
C2N14... because life is not energetic enough. מנא, מנא, תקל, ופרסין Daniel 5:25-28... Got 7.62?
Not Depressed enough yet? Go read National Geographic, July 1976 Gott und Gewehr mit uns!
Imagine if old Kalashnikov could have made say just one dollar per rifle, ahh the joys of communism/socialism. Obama would be proud of such a sacrifice to the motherland!!!

Even under communism, there was an elite that lived pretty well, and he would have fit in with that group. Here is a short biography, as you can see he had quite a few very high awards and titles, I doubt he suffered very much. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kalashnikov,_Mikhail
Some of our members may be surprized to find out he is a Life Member of the National Rifle Association.

The man was (is) genius, he deserves the honors of designing a great firearm. I know he has lived a life of privilege. Its just funny we don't see that is what has been happening here for the last 40 years.
I have a few of his designs and I have to give it to the Russians, they still use the 7.62x54 and show no signs of backing away from a 120 year old round.
The US could learn a thing or two from the Russians, not the communist party, but the Russian's themselves.
Mr Kalashnikov deserves to be listed up there with the other great gun designers, and will probably be remembered for a very long time to come. There are only a handful of iconic firearms and the AK is certainly one of them.
Our draconian gun laws in the land of Oz means we don't get to shoot many of the great guns you blokes over there do, and I have never had the pleasure of shooting an AK but did get to shoot its predecessor, the SKS 7.62 x 39 back in the days before Little Johnny decided to make Australia a much safer place for us to live

You have got to love democracy-
It lets you choose who your dictator is going to be.

My understanding is Hugo Schmeisser designed the AK while a guest of the russians at the end of the war compare the MP44/stg44 to the AK, course people have said that the inside design is different but that figures with going from the 8x33 to the 7.62x39, in 2009 Mr AK admitted that Schmeisser and another german helped on the design more likely Mr AK just named it not design it. The russians would be nothing without the german scientists/techs they got during and after the war. danny
Along with anything (non-Mummy) starring Brendan Frasier...

Per Google's Russian to English translator, the above gobbledygook translates to:
"Very beautiful. I hope that you will read."
Amazing, this cyber age - eh?
Google isn't exactly on top of things...
это хорошо, что я могу читать немного русский
"It's OK, am I able (to) read kinda-sortof Russian"
(Word order in Russian is not the same as English...)

Not that Kalashnikov's role was minor, but saying he designed the AK is akin to saying General Leslie Groves, who headed the Manhattan Project, designed the atomic bomb. It just ain't so. Kalashnikov was put over a design-and-build group of hundreds, and the final product bore very, very little resemblance to anything he designed. The engineering is conspicuously German-flavored, much more sauer kraut than borscht.
