Anybody got Win WST data for the .45 Colt

Post by J Miller »

I have a partial can of Winchester WST powder that I want to burn up.

I have been searching for data for that powder in the .45 Colt. So far no luck.
Found it for .45 ACP, 38 Spcl, and some others, but not what I'm looking for. I shoot so little 38 Spcl it's not really worth my trouble to load that, and the only 45 ACP I have is the cylinder for my Ruger BH.

Does anyone here know of any data, personal or posted for that powder and the .45 colt?

Joe, where does that powder fall in a powder burn-rate chart? If you can find that, it may give you a clue...........course you could always call the mfg'r, too. Just my 2 cents, jd45

JD,

ADI's burning rate chart: http://www.adi-limited.com/handloaders- ... alents.asp
puts it on the same line as 700x, Green Dot, and AA #5.

I hadn't thought of checking the burning rate charts. Duh ..... brain phart.

Hot ACP loads generally approximate low recoil Colt loads.

I loaded up a dozen .45 ACP rounds with the WST last night just to check it. I used the start and max load data from Winchesters data booklet.
If it works like it should I've got 225 more ACP rounds to load up.

I'll keep poking around as I can to see what data I might find.

Does anybody on this forum have one of those computerized loading programs?

JD,

Nope, no auto loader, just the ACP cylinder to my Ruger BH.

I've got hundreds of rounds of 45 ACP left from when I did have a 1911 though. Been gradually shooting them out of the auxiliary cylinder.

Well, I'm gonna bring it. You shoot it. It'll stir up fond memories. Hell, it might even induce you to consider getting another. I hear Charles Daly has a pretty nifty GI model.........reasonable, too. jd45

JD,

I do intend to get another .45ACP bottom feeder. What I'd like to get is a Springfield 1911a1 Mil Spec like I had back in 98. Best non Colt 1911 I've ever owned. Fed everything I loaded in it right out of the box. Bullets hit to the sights also.
Like a STUPID NIT WIT I sold it to pay bills.
